About our School
St. Francis of Assisi Academy is situated north of Okotoks, in the Davisburg area. St. Francis of Assisi Academy opened its doors for the first time on August 30, 2016 with about 260 students.
The school currently enrolls approximately 500 students from Kindergarten to Grade 9.
The state-of-the-art facility features one of the largest gymnasiums in the division, 13 large classrooms, a high tech New Media suite, a Band room, and a large Foods lab. It has a beautiful Atrium and a Library. CTR also has a joint use agreement so students can access the Scott Seaman Sports Rink next door for various skating programs and our Junior High Hockey option (Gr. 7-9) when student interest exists.
Faith is at the core of our school and permeates everything we do. Our other main areas of focus are Literacy, Numeracy, and Physical Education.
A unique feature to the school’s programming is an enhanced Math and Numeracy Program. In our scheduling, we have incorporated an additional 20 minute Numeracy block from Monday - Thursday, where students engage in projects and activities that build an awareness of how numeracy, like literacy, is intertwined in all aspects of our lives. In some cases, the additional numeracy minutes that are allocated are used to reinforce and re-teach math topics where student progress shows that extra practice is required.
